Because maybe they are not real, they are just a big deal in your head.

Exactly. But thinking different does not help a constant tinnitus, which was a side product of some former events i try to suppress with some success.
I'm not sure what such a hotline would do for you. Maybe someone could do an AI driven hotline. It could spew out things like.
“Gee that's too bad.”
“I totally understand where you're coming from.”
“I'm sorry he hurt you.”
“I'm sure tomorrow will be better.”
etc…
This topic has befuddled me since I don't know what kind of harassment devs suffer at the hands of players. Just read an interesting Washington Post article about the GDC's State of the Game Industry 2023 report ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/2023/01/19/metaverse-blockchain-gdc-survey/ ) that confirms it's an issue for 91% of the respondents to the GDC survey. It's a throwaway factoid at the end of the article.
I guess I'll find out for myself what this harassment looks like when my current project releases, later this year. I don't think a hotline can help so much as knowing which law enforcement agency might be able to take action when the harassment steps over the line.

What would you consider over the line? I guess actual threats of violence would be.
