...I warned ya... :-)

but sometimes I like to know there are people who have it so much worse than me.

quote:
If you happen to get the team of people, who have no idea about game programming, yet even to say programming. (I AM THE ONLY C++ PROGRAMMER!!!), and have this situation, what do you do...

I''ld get out a spoon and start digging a tunnel under my desk to freedom and sanity.

Alternatively, saying to the boss "you''re an idiot. I quit." is actually a pretty sensible option.

Either way, good luck with the escape plan

Well now...
I would say...
Tell the gfx and VB guys to find a temporary job for a few months.
Get anotehr c++ guy and develop the engines. gfx, sounds, input, etc. Do it all as a DLL or COM or what-have-you. Make sure it is totally unbuggy.
Then you would get the VB dudes in and they would make the game, along with the gfx guys, and you are home free.

Or...quit. :-)

Hot damn. Yeah. Run. Fast. As far away as you can. Or, tell the graphics artists to draw pictures. That''s what they''re there for. Sack the VB programmers, or hand them a copy of C++ For Dummies. And forget Flash/Director. I don''t even know how you could tie in any output they could provide you with, except in .bmp format...

My opinion is a recombination and regurgitation of the opinions of those around me. I bring nothing new to the table, and as such, can be safely ignored.[ Useful things - Firefox | GLee | Boost | DevIL ]
The only way I see this making any sense is if it''s a web type game. There was some kind of gerbil in a microwave ''game'' I seem to remember which was done in flash. VB would be for stuff on the web page, and a C programmer would create some sort of com object for the VB guys to access or something (unless flash can get at com objects for ai).

Gerbil in a microwave???

Give us liberty, or give us death!
Yes, gerbil in microwave.

Um, you need to run like hell.

This has to be the weirdest developement team I have ever heard of. 14 graphics artists? What? And you are the only programmer with C++ abilities? You got to be kidding me. One more thing. SInce when does an artist create a graphics engine? They create the models and the animation, the programmer does the real brute force work. VB? Please. I have no experience in VB, but do not really see it as an asset. The structure of your project is MESSED UP. Your screwed.
