During this pandemic we all need help. Our grandparents are alone and we need to find ways to help them spend time. Any ideas on how to make board games playable through video chat. We need to consider most of our grandparents dont know much about computers.

If they can run Tabletop Simulator that would do it.

@rutin Ive tried but they dont understand how to use the mouse. I was able to make a domino game with excel, zoom screen share and a physical domino set for each player.

You can play a lot of other games.

  • Bingo
  • Battleship
  • Pictionary
  • Guess the movie
  • Guess the song
  • Charades
  • Chess (Update boards on both-sides per move)
  • Checkers (Update boards on both-sides per move)
  • Backgammon (Update boards on both-sides per move)

ect………….

If you want to develop your own then be creative.

Setup a Tabletop Simulator game and screen share your session via Zoom. Our regular tabletop gaming group did this for the first week or two that we met virtually. Three of us had TTS and one of us streamed to the 4th and moved the camera/pieces for him. We've since gifted him his own copy of TTS.

This only really works though with a game with no hidden info and easily communicable moves.
