im not sure if i should make this a little dungeon crawl, or a tournament type thing where u get money for killing the monsters

My first text based game was a tournament based on the Dungeons and Dragons movie. It featured like 5 of the characters from the movie, and allowed you to play as any of them against all of the others. It became very helpful.

It was also very fun to make! So I would have to say tournament style would be cool. Text-RPG's are kinda strange.

Dude, instead of thinking about all of this stuff, why don''t you work on the game. Or else your going to become a GameDev.net junky like me and constantly check posts (only, I check posts and get stuff done, which should be an accomplishment, because I post alot).

Start!!! You have the idea down already, you know the main concept, when you get to what is needed, then you can put it in. Unless you are actually making a design document for your game.
