How would you design a war tycoon game?

I'm thinking it would look like a strategy game like civ/total war, but pushing the management side much further and leaving all the micromanagement to AIs. Was this made before? Do you think that would be viable? How would you design that?

no seriously, I think that would turn out great. A lot of work, but would be awesome.

Depending on what kind of “management” you're looking for, but a large part of it is logistics, I would say. Move stuff such that it is at the right spot at the right time to have an impact.
