@deltakshatriya In Europe I expect SARS-CoV-2 to be peaking in about the time GDC starts. This of course depends on how many untreated cases get loose, which is very likely due to long incubation period and in most cases not developing severe symptoms.

I’m not sure about it peaking in the next few weeks. It seems like the spread has only just started. Hopefully the warm weather will slow it, as we approach spring and summer.

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday confirmed the first possible “community spread” of the coronavirus in the U.S.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention doesn’t know exactly how the California patient contracted the virus. The individual is a resident of Solano County"

That's going to be around 50 miles from San Francisco where GDC is held this year.

I say it will be canceled by Monday.

Therefore at this point it is technically cancelled, I expect they will also announce possibility of non-refundable tickets to be refunded with cancellation of the event. Otherwise it may hurt GDC reputation.

Isn't it required by law that ticket costs are refunded if an event is canceled?

@fleabay In EU there are directives that define when and how much is refunded. In case of event cancellation from imposing of government crisis - refunds have to be full within EU. But this doesn't cover GDC as the event takes place in USA and orders go under US laws.

GDC's web site is still insisting that everything is just fine, and they still list exhibitors who have cancelled. That's not helping.

GDC 2020?
