Hi ppl. I'm a beginner at programming (have just one year of studies) and.i have a bad English :P.

So, i will be brief. I have start a game project with a artist friend, so what I want to know is: what I need to do (like a programmer) first ? I need make a good game with a really good code. But, I always start coding and have some problems like "Oh, I could have made OOP (oriented objects programming)!". So, this is my question.

Thank u everyone!

If you want to improve your code then I would suggest making small projects and then share your source code for feedback. Start small, build up your skill sets, and forget about any serious projects for now. To become a good programmer you need to put in the time and write a lot of code while actively seeking to build good practices and obtain feedback as needed.

I would also suggest working from a design document to blueprint your projects.

Best of luck.

This video from Mathew Palaje helped me tremendously when I started out so I'd definitely recommend you watch it.

It basically suggests that you should start making a game a week first and when you feel more confident you can start doing a game a month and go on from there.

I think this kind of roadmap will help you because it allows you to work on many different types of projects, for different platforms and in different genres which will help you to get more experience.
