Hi there! I''ve been here since the past few weeks, learning OpenGL like mad, and in those past few weeks, I''ve become a huge fan of NeHe''s tutors. All of a sudden, I got a great idea : I''d like to make a website with all his tutors translated to Dutch, since there aren''t many good dutch tutors on this in Dutch as far as I know. So I mailed NeHe if that was OK with him, but I got no reply back. Guess I''m boring him or so. Now the question : would that be OK with copyrights? Can''t find anything right away about that. Of course, I''d give NeHe the full credits he deserves. Thanks, JP

It''s only legal with NeHe''s permission. If he has not replied, I assure you it is not due to you boring him. He either has had no time to reply, or the message didn''t make it or got lost. Just e-mail him again. I''m pretty sure he''ll say ok as long as you offer him the credit he deserves. But really, he wouldn''t just blow you off unless you made a stupid request such as "make my game for me."

Also be sure to credit the original author of the tutorial. There are several tutorials that aren''t written by him, but are being hosted at his site.

Okay, I''ve mailed NeHe again, waiting for a reply now. Already working on the site.

Good idea to translate the site to Dutch. Indeed it is very difficult to find any good tutorials in our language. By the way, by translating only more people will get to know the FABULOUS work of Nehe. I think this idea will show Nehe how much his work is appreciated all over the world, and I hope he sees it the same way.

misschien is het beter om nog even te wachten, hij is nu een beetje down.

Helaas ja. Maar aan de andere kant is het mijn manier om te zeggen dat ik zijn werk waardeer. Bovendien zal hij nog wel een half jaar op z''n minst down blijven als ik zo eens hoor over zijn situatie.
