Poll Redemption

Its obvious that there are some fairly pathetic characters hanging around here - the fact the the poll had to be pulled due to the actions of some unevolved oxygen thieves is very sad indeed. The worst thing is that this will probably be the last demo competition now. I doubt that there will be another one, why the hell would NeHe bother after this mess? I certainly wouldn''t. (As a beginner OpenGL coder myself I was really looking forward to going into the next competition) So, here is a chance to redeem this community. It simple. Its easy. DONATE TO THE SITE. (or buy the CD. or use the store). Maybe if this community shows a little appreciation we might be able to make up for the dickheads who wrecked the competition. If you admired the work in the demos, if you''ve ever used one of NeHes tutes, or if you''ve ever had a problem solved in the forum here is your chance to start being a contributor rather than a scrounger. ----------------------- glDisable(WORK); glEnable(GL_CODING);

I am buying a NeHe CD for Christmas.

You know what really pisses me off.... you have 500 people saying "Hey. I am only one guy. It isn''t going to make a difference." Ass''s. If everyone believed that, what would happen!? NeHe is just about the best thing that has ever happened, and I truly wish I had thousands to give to NeHe.gamedev.net, but I don''t. The best I can do is buy that CD. If everyone would do the same thing, eventually those thousands of dollars would appear.

I think Jeff should write a book. I would definately be interested in buying it then. A book that teaches step by step how to develop a few different small time games (kind of like the book "The Black Art of JAVA Game Programming" has the full development of like 6 Java games, some 2d some 3d.) The book would be the next step from the tutorials on Jeff''s site. It would be cool if it used SDL for the 2D stuff.

Just an idea.
