So I've aspired to be a developer since i was very young, and now I'm following that dream. I have a gaming desktop computer and I want to start making indie games. Any suggestions for programs to start with. Something quick and easy to use.

This is not a Game Design question. Moving to appropriate forum.

Do you know how to program?  What kinds of games do you want to make?

It depends.

Do you wan't to make games or do you want to learn how to program games?

Something like Construct will have you making games, but you won't really learn how to actually code this way.

What starts out 'quick and easy' will often limit you later on.

This is the usual first article that discusses matters more in-depth. Feel free to ask more questions if you have them

It would help to know what kind of game you are expecting to make.  Simplified,  "Indie" is just financing the production yourself, and is not much to go on.

Perhaps we could start with what influences you are under? ^_^ What game stands out most for you? Did that game reach out of the monitor and slap you round the chops while screaming "YOU ARE GOING TO BE A GAME DEVELOPER!"?

Unity 2017.  Here are two games I have made after just half a year of learning.  My next project is a hand drawn 2d platformer.

Balloon Boy
