Wow I just looked at all the demos for the contest, and I must say that thay are really good. I had a very hard time picking one to vote for Any way exelent job everone, maby next time I will enter Edited by - Validus on December 1, 2001 8:01:32 PM
Some are very good, some are pretty average, but they all look like they were fun to make. I had a tough choice between one that totally blew me away, and one that made me laugh tremendously.

I''m surprised noone made a reference to the recent attacks on the United States. I''m working on a first-person game set in and around the World Trade Center at the time of the attacks... I don''t yet know what it''s going to turn out like - maybe you''ll be a fireman or something, helping people out.

Don''t worry, it won''t be an offensive bloodbath.

Which one made you laugh?
I have extremly slow connection, so I cant download all.
"Dan''s Apocalypse 2001 Demo" is the one that made me laugh. If it werent for the other one (which will remain anonymous) it would definately have got my vote.

I have a very fast (well, for a home connection anyway... 6mbit/sec) connection, so I checked them all out.

I got cable, so i downloaded them all! yes they were VERY good. Maybe I will enter the next contest, provided i finishing reading the tutorials. Some of those people tho were kinda noobs @ opengl (or @ least demo "movies") Or maybe it is just me...

If you noticed the file sizes, i dont wanna say the biggest is the best, but the smaller ones did not stand a chance compared to the 4-5 meg ones.

EDIT: change = chance

Some fairly good demos there. Haven''t decided which one to vote for yet. Unfortunately two of them failed to run on my machine (933Mhz P3, 256Meg ram, NVIDIA GeForce 256, win98) - Matteo P''s "Matteo''s Apocalypse 2001 demo" and Mirko Teran''s "Crystal Tears". Anybody else have problems with these?

On a completely unrelated note - Hmmm, BTOpenWorld Ad! (I believe the package they''re advertising has a limit on the number of hours you can use the internet per day, or something similar - for some reason they don''t mention this in the advert!)

Im going to enter the next one methinks, even tho I dont use any nehe code or tutorials. I dont care if I come last, but going by these entries it was VERY fun for the contestants.

Plus Ive got some tricks up my sleeves for nice effects

They all ran fine on my pc.. p3-600mhz 288meg ram, 64meg geforce3 ti 200, win xp). Shame you cant run "Crystal Tears", it''s a VERY well done entry.
