Welcome! I would like to share a project that we have been working on for about a year now.

Story:

Nyx the Haijun Chameleon possess both the martial arts, strength, and finesse of the Haijun while attempting to learn the Shadow Arts under the guidance of his human partner Jazzmine. One fateful day Nyx gets captured during one of his escapades and is taken across the Syterran Desert World to a secret cave. It is here that Nyx breaks free using newfound strength and his goal is to return across the outstretched desert to return to the Haijun Dojo.

Mechanics:

-Side-Scroller Stealth/Action Game with 3D Models and Assets

-Camouflage with your surroundings to avoid Enemy Detection

-Use different strategies to avoid/eliminate different enemies ranging from a Sand Pirate to a Mongoose, to a Snake and more.

-Use your Haijun finesse to maneauver levels and avoid natural/artificial traps meant to kill Nyx

-Improve on your Shadow Abilities to increase mobility, attack, or stealth depending on your desired style of play

-Collect Crickets and sell them to improve on your Shadow Abilities and gain different outfits (skins) for Nyx

About Us:
We here at MoonRift are a group of passionate individuals dedicated to creating immersive and engaging games. We started out together as strangers a few years ago but have come a long way in learning about the game dev process. Nyx will be our first game release, but we plan on creating and releasing many more in the future.


Personally, I love all variations of games from Final Fantasy, Starcraft, ARK Survival Evolved, Left4Dead, Mario Kart, Banjoo Kazooie, Sims, Sims City, Witcher, and more. The game that impacted me the most as a child was Kingdom Hearts. Like many game devs I’ve always wanted to join the industry and now this me doing it. But enough about myself, check out our (updating) website and post if you have any questions or just want to let us know what you think so far.

We are continuing to build up the core of the game. Today we just finished a lot of the traps, still have some physics issues we need to resolve. Working on the AI animations. Starting to build the background wall for the demo level. Fixing up rigs, polishing textures, applying weights, and fine tuning many of our characters to be shipped into the engine. We are grinding for our Kickstarter date of the end of May!!

KICKSTARTER June 1st

We are getting closer and closer to our date. We are pushing the date of release back by a one week to fine tune it a bit more. Be ready for it!

The level design is coming along nicely, we are going to lighten up some of the cave in order to make it feel more desert-e.

· Nyx is finishing up in all his CORE animations and is being fine tuned

· Mongoose is in animation phase and has first idle animation rough in progress

· Programmers have been making leaps and bounds, polishing up major mechanics such as pit fall, traps, AI, and lightning

· Level design is continuous work in progress, but we are starting to get the environmental assets textured.

We are now working on the process of meshing all of our assets together. There is a learning curve as we’ve come to find out with importing into Unreal Engine but this only delays the inevitable Kickstarter!! Be ready for it!

This week we have made tremendous progress with polishing a lot of our game mechanics, polishing up a lot of the animations, as well as working on texturing the environmental assets since most of the character models/textures are complete.

A lot of our work is simply polishing things that currently exist. Polishing up for our Kickstarter

We are beginning to slow down on the amount of assets being created due to us working on polishing all of our currents works for the Kickstarter. We decided we are going to hold off a few more weeks before launching our Kickstarter simply because we want to be READY before we put ourselves out there again. So we are working on polishing up mechanics, animations, assets, level design, website, kickstarter page, etc etc.

We are running into a few issues with importing but the team is overall working 8+ hours a day each grinding to polish our works. Be ready for more updates soon on Nyx the Haijun Chameleon! [To be honest I’m nervous but of course excited]
