Hello everyone
I've been working on a 2D retro style platformer for a while now and I thought it would be a good idea to start a devlog here to share updates about its development.
General Information
Name: Tales of Lena
Genre: 2D platformer
Engine: Unity
Graphics: Pixel art using DawnBringer's 16 colors palette (http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12795)
Platform: Windows (Mac/Linux).
You play as Lena, on a quest to retrieve a stolen treasure. The game will be about exploring, finding secrets and hidden treasure (not about rushing to the exit as fast as possible). Besides the familiar running and jumping platforms and enemies, Lena can kick various object to break them, activate stuff or reveal secrets.
The game's structure is as follows:
- Levels will be accessed from a top down world map on which you can walk around freely.
- You decide which world to play first.
- Every world has 3 levels (2 regular, 1 boss battle).
- Complete a level to make the next one appear on the map.
- Defeat the world's boss to acquire a key.
- Collect all keys to unlock the final world.
- Each level contains a specific amount of treasures to find.
- Collect all treasures to unlock additional content.
Media
Note: the follow media contains WIP graphics that don't represent the final game.
