Does anybody know where I can get the .max specification or perhaps a free converter from 2.5 .max files to .3DS files? Abs

There used to be a free download MAX SDK on the kinetix site, maybe in you''d find what your after there? Dunno whats happened to it though, so you''ll have to search, sorry.

I think the MAX format is more a list of instructions on how certain modifiers are applied to the mesh. If you''re after more than the mesh data it may get tricky...

I may still have an old backup of the SDK on a CD somewhere though, so let me know if you don''t find anything.

I think the best converter may indeed be 3ds max itself.
