My dream "game" (though it's not really a game) is an idea I had around 10 years ago when I had a lot of time on my hands during a move from Alabama to Australia. I wanted to make a snail racing simulation. In this simulation you would breed, take care of, and race snails. There would be an economy, you could grow your own food for the snails, and it would all be based on real life locations. Your stable would be based where you actually registered. If you go travelling you can capture different kinds of snails in different physical locations. Snails would have brains and make decisions and be able to learn.

It had a few false starts over the years as I was teaching myself to code. The latest iteration was started a couple of years ago and it's progressing pretty well. It's just a hobby project and there is no deadline, and I have a feeling I'll just keep working on it until I'm an old lady and never finish because I am not limiting my scope. But the process of building it and seeing your old grand idea come to life is just as motivating as the idea of actually finishing the thing is. I have learned so much just building all the different systems - from user registration to geolocation to working on the snail brain and handling server load and building an auction house and currency system, and there is still tons to learn.
