So, how about it? I figured programmers were also farmers who can also read and write, and with all these riveting either-or threads and polls, I figured I'd just ask the farmers on gamedev.

It's actually pronounced "Solanum lycopersicum."

I pronounce it "pizza sauce" :D

if you think programming is like sex, you probably haven't done much of either.-------------- - capn_midnight

I've always liked the old saying: "You say tomato, I say go f*** yourself." :P

Beginner here <- please take any opinions with grain of salt

Definitely tomato if anyone argues I'll be angry

Mobile Developer at PawPrint Games ltd.

(Not "mobile" as in I move around a lot, but as in phones, mobile phone developer)

(Although I am mobile. no, not as in a babies mobile, I move from place to place)

(Not "place" as in fish, but location.)

This topic definitely needs a poll.

Okay. I'm not able to add a poll to an existing thread, so just make reply with your answer:

How do you pronounce "Tomato"?

A. "Tomato"
B. "Tomato"
C. Other

Yeah, I'm going with option C.

I've never noticed how much the word "Tomato" sounds like the word "Other," but now that I think about it, that's definitely the right answer.

I'm sorry about any spelling or grammar mistakes or any undue brevity, as I'm most likely typing on my phone

I have had several years of experience playing Farmville, therefore, I can speak with authority that it's indeed pronounced "tomato".

It is always pronounced tomato. Anyone that pronounces it differently is nuts!
