Now I have too search for a new job. Not too happy about that, but I sure that I will find something soon. What about the rest of you? How are your job situations? If you have been laid off are you worried about finding a job? Thanks! John William Blair

My job seems pretty secure. But sometimes I almost wish I would get laid off so I would have more free time to work on my various game project ideas. Maybe then I would be able to come up with something good enough to get re-hired into the gaming industry.

Good luck,

Yeah that would be cool, I might do the same. But looking for a job, doing grad school and doing part time web work has me booked! Strange, but cool..

I haven''t been laid off... but I have been on unpaid "holidays" since February

I''m glad to say things have just been getting better for me. My job is very stable and I just landed a contract that pay''s almost triple of my full time job.

With any luck I should be debt free within the next 6 months (except the house of course).

The downside is I''ll be working 70 hour weeks and not have any time to work on my game projects. But I''ll be loaded when I finally have a break down

Hi,

I was made redundant at the start of August and spent 2 and a half months (few hours a day anyway) working on my little game project. I''m now working in a book warehouse picking orders (45% discount on any book though, woohoo!). I''m actually quite enjoying it in a wierd way, but then again I don''t mind what work I do. I''m working my way through the Judge Dredd graphic novels a page at a time each time I go down aisle Z ''Young Death: Boyhood of a superfiend'' (or similar) already down, I''m currently on ''Death Aid'' if anyones interested. I''m very tired by the time I get home though so not much coding being done. I should be switching in a few weeks to data entry locally, less hours for the same pay, minus the 2 hours travelling a day = more coding at home!

I''m not that bothered by a computing based job for now, just something to pay the bills and give me free time to work on the game.
