(sry for all caps, it's a Death [Discworld character] thing)

In case anyone missed it, Terry Pratchett passed away this week. In case you don't know about the Discworld, you should really pick up one of his books, they are extremely good.

RIP Terry Pratchett and don't distract Death too much, considering what happened the last time he took a vacation.

It's a sad day. Post Douglas Adams, he's one of the last of the comedic fantasy greats (along with Piers Anthony, who is also in his 80's at this point).

His works sound interesting. Sad that I did not know of him until now.

RIP. He wrote a lot of pot-boilers, but when he was good, he was out of this world.

Ach! Crivens! That mean no new stories aboot our wee kelda this year? Tis wus promisd for 2015.

I get the impression that the last book was finished so it might still get published this year... but that'll be it... forever. sad.png

RIP... so many hours of fun reading the books. Even more hours of fun picking one of the discworld books for my english lessons reading exam, and forcing the english teacher to fight his way through Pratchetts sometimes quite hard to read language (at least for the non-native muggles) smile.png

Ah, the simple joys of a 15 year old, all made possible by that man.

I was (still am) a huge Pratchett fan. I even met him many years ago. He signed my copy of Reaper Man (at the time, he signed every book slightly differently, Reaper Man had a scythe, Small Gods had a turtle, etc). To this day, it's probably the thing I'd grab if my house was on fire.

I loved this idea: http://www.gnuterrypratchett.com/ and I'd encourage any fans to participate :)

Very sad... I knew it was coming, I just hoped it would be later. I met him once at a book signing, he seemed like a really nice guy.
