He does 3D printing videos using the Ultimaker 3D printer.
Some of the stuff he does turns out really well and clean, he also experiments with unconventional material such as flexible filament and bronze filament.
3D printing can be somewhat slow, which makes it impractical for mass production, but it is still very valuable for prototypes and the average consumer.

Even the Ultimaker (probably one of the best printers for high resolution prints is a minimum of 20 microns. Here's a video of a guy printing LEGO Bricks. (q3dprinter's revolution is 25 microns). LEGO Bricks have a tolerance of 2 microns basically requiring a printer with 2 to 5 micron resolution. We're still probably 5 years away.
There are Multi color ones that have transparant to, i bet they aint cheap.
The small robots look realy cool btw, i dont see the use to buy a 3d printer, exept for printing your own game spaceships/robots.
Who has a real use for that exept small robots or decoration ?
