[OpenAL] Books on Audio Programming

I've done some basic OpenAL programming from writing a basic wav loader, to setting up my audio source to play the buffer. Getting basic sound effects to play with 3D positioning was pretty straightforward, but I'd like to learn how to handle things such as getting the same effect to play multiple times as rapid succession. I'd also like to learn things such as sound interpolation for sounds such as cars revving up, accelerating, switching gears, etc. Does anyone know of any good books on this subject, perferrably involving OpenAL? OpenAL might be too low-level for some of these effects, which is where things like FMOD shine, but I'd like to learn more about audio, and write some higher-level stuff that I could use royalty-free haha.
