What is your favorite videogame and why?

Nah I get liking a game most dont. Mercenaries 2 to me is one of my favourite just because of the crazy experiences I had with it. In regards to farcry I just never got into 2 so it probably stopped me enjoying.

3 on the other hand is one of my favourite games. The story is so insane that I just love it and Vaas is one of my favourite bad guys. Plus Kick the Hornets Nest is one of the best missions I have played.

Favourite 'Oldies': Master of Magic, Magic Carpet, Sacrifice, Fallout, original XCOM

Favourite 'Middle-aged': Vanilla/BC WoW, Medieval 2: TW

Recent favourites: Witcher 2, Skyrim

Best gaming moment ever: Being a total noob to MMOs, and walking into Ironforge for the first time...

The gameplay sucks because it takes too long to save? Your argument is rather flawed and rather shallow, honestly.

Ok, i will explain, since you did not experience this yourself :

if you dont save, you will spawn at the last save point.

If you wanto save it takes to much time.

I dont wanto save, the game needs to remember to spawn at the save point, without saving all data for one minute to the PS3 harddrive.

Is that a better arguement not flawed and shallow for you ?

Maybe i have problems with most of the modern games, why not make this topic : What is the worsed games you ever seen/played, and why ?

greetings

Diablo 2.

I could just sink into it for hours, trying new characters and discarding them if they didn't feel right, taking the ones that did work as far as I could on /players 8, even spending time farming runes and elite weapons with my brother in law, so that we could try out some of the runeword recipes. I never did any googling for optimal builds or any of that stuff that people say ruined the game, and that so influenced Blizzard to utterly ruin D3, so the act of discovery was fun for a long time. Still is fun. I popped the disc in a couple weeks ago, and it hasn't left by dvd drive since.

Gameplay is different from how the game saves. That was my point. I didn't like how Morrowind saved, doesn't mean I think the gameplay is bad.

Let's see... I have to do this by category.

Arcade Games: (that regularly ate my quarters)

TRON

Rolling Thunder

Gauntlet

Street Fighter II & Alpha (Series)

T-Mech(?)

Dragon's Lair (Series)

KLAX

Block-Out

Double Dragon

Console Games:

Final Fantasy (Series, but VI, VII, and X were played the most.)

Actraiser

Legend of Zelda LttP

Street Fighter II & Alpha (Series) (Yes, again.)

Mortal Kombat II (Yes, only #2)

Hitman (series)

(Funny, I thought this section would be longer.)

PC games:

TRON 2.0 (special place in my heart)

Adventure Construction Set (technically not a game)

Maniac Mansion (and the development of SCUMM)

Monkey Island (series)

Master of Orion (I & II)

Jagged Alliance (only the first one)

X-Wing (series, includes Tie Fighter series)

Full Throttle

Unreal Tournament (series)

System Shock (1 & 2 )

So yeah... I'm getting old.

Nothing's really blown my hair back in the past decade or more.

Wait : i forgot the lost vikings.

And your right meatsack : Double Dragon is also very good, i still remember the title music, verry good.

The Original NES plays Always better then a emulator, i gotto buy a NES again, its a waste i ever sold the thing,

those games are more expensive then second hand modern games,

i also noticed people with a 3D printer make NES cardridges nowadays, and they asking huge prices also, you might accidently buy a fake NES game.

Maybe its legal because it is that old ?, and the license out of date ?, i dont know.

It's really difficult for me to name my absolute favorite video game. I could cheat and do a top 20 list, perhaps, but it'd be really difficult to put them in any sort of rigid order.

I do, however, have an irrational undying love for Super Metroid.

A lot of great (better?) games have come out since then, but it's difficult to top Christmas morning as a 12-year-old, opening the only present I wanted that year -- a game I had already guessed would be my all-time favorite, and I was right.
