Hello everybody,

I want to ask you guys, if you can answer to this question, that if you ever made money standing home at the computer?

I need some money for my little projects and I wonder if there is a place on this HUGE internet where you can get some money by programming or doing some computer science things? I think this is called free lance.

Sure, lots of places.

The ones that immediately jump to mind are Criagslist computer gigs, rentacoder, elance, and fiverr, each of them depending on what you want to do. There are many more, including help wanted ads for your local area and even your school.

Frob got most of it, just wanted to add that I am pretty sure google summer code still pays a decent amount and you can get a few very interesting projects.

Other than that, if you are willing to move out of the internet, you can always make websites (or even apps) as a free lancer, those will mostly pay you quite a decent amount.

Currently working on a scene editor for ORX (http://orx-project.org), using kivy (http://kivy.org).

Web dev is the worst paying field ...

You get to compete with India and China, who charge $400 - $1,000 USD a month for work .

I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me.

Thank you guys. I will try on elance. I think I have to organise my finished games and apps and make an online portofolio :).

Most local shops, caffes and service providers won't hire someone from China or India to made their small site.

I have many friends that would make quite a bit of money (for a student) during college from those freelances, at least in my country, it pays a lot more than most internships. Of course, you can't hope to provide for a family with this, but you can surely make enough money to pay for student's needs (which are likely to be food, parties and drinks).

Last I looked "locally" ( in my area ), it's $30 USD per page with PHP, and $25 USD with HTML5 .

If you're in college see if you can find places to put out flyers or cards. I made a little money as a student repairing computers for businesses and individuals and doing some freelance database work for local offices.
