Hello everyone, new member here. Do you guys know of any open source fighting game that is being developed / has been released? If not, well, why not make one? Do you think an open source fighting game would be a good idea?

I think it would be interesting to have an online open source 2D fighting game like Street Fighter. It wouldn't be like M.U.G.E.N. where people can just make their own characters and put them into the game. There would be original characters made for the game and people could create their own stages and alternate outfits for characters. The contributors to the game would also be able to make adjustments to the characters to balance the game.
