I predicted that there's going to be a great recession in the economy. What else could go wrong? rolleyes.gif

"tempting fate" is nonsense, because there is no such thing as fate.

After the earthquakes in christchurch, I would frequently say things to my friends like "there definitely will not be another massive earthquake right now", and watch them freak out, as if what I said could somehow influence the movement of the earths crust biggrin.png

I had fun with tourists afterwards. If they'd ask me if we were expecting another aftershock, I'd look at my watch for a few seconds then tell them "in about one minute" and watch them freak out. :D

Karma got me when I moved to Melbourne though. For the first week, every time a train went by, the low pitched rumble that proceeds it followed by the ground shaking made me think a quake was about to hit.
