Oh please help this poor destroyed soul!
Let me get to the point! Ive a dream on making an RPG-like game world! its already very well planned lore and development.
But im like crazy lost into the internet trying to find an answer and all i find is "an engine easy to trainning" or "a way to make an small game".
So none of what i found was like the answer i need!
The Question: What language/engine will gimme the power to make my game?
The Game Requires:
- Its a Desktop standalone. So i dont need/want mobile support.
- 2D graphics: sprites big as Ragnarok and Breath of Fire IV. But not 3D scenario. I want to make equips to show up and things like that.
- Mouse interactive based: Like a lot of MMOs. But for this game i'd like to use as example Tibia cause the world will be interactive, etc.
- Target Combat: Again like mmos that you select a target and spam your spells, but in this game will be more a mix of WoW and Torchlight(i know its not target fixed but is my hit and run inspiration), where is good to run or you will get smashed by the boss AoE,etc.
- The RPG Basics: Iventory, Character Sheet, Skill List, etc.
The Developer:
Its just me and my self trying to make real a dream of a game that i really want to play and was extincted by the 3D, Casuality, Grind (damn koreans), money focus, etc. Who i am? I dunno for sure but what i know is:
- Im more artist than programmer, but i learn fast (i was have learned a little bit of some OOP language for another project so im not affraid of learning).
- Im going to do this alone. I dont want someone touching my dreamworld. So im doing the game for me not to sell or to my friends like it. The game will be what i want it to be.
The Game Realease:
- Its not gonna be commercialized. Ill throw it on the internet to everyone who wants to play. So not planning on make money and not money to waste on it right now.
- Im not in a hurry i just want to get it done before my 80s.
So what do you say guys? can you please take this pain out of my mind? Just dont come with the common stuff to rpg hobbyists like RPGMaker cause engines like that are too much oriented to a specific gameplay and to change it takes a lot o recoding of the already done engine and when you manage to do it the game is always buggy and heavy.
Ty for your attention!
