linux game sound

I wount to add sound in a linux consale game. I wount the sound effects to play at the same time as the background misic is playing. I have used /dev/dsp for sound efects but Can not figerout how to get music. Gary Russell ghrussel@swbell.net

FMOD is an excellent sound/music API and now works under Linux. Check it at http://www.fmod.org
YIFF was one of the original sound servers
evolved on Linux. It''s the most stable there
is and documented.

I''m a newbie games programmer with Linux, using the SDL ( Simple Directmedia Layer ) API. It has sound capability ( so far I just used it to play .wav files ) and I would suggest you to visit their website.
