milkshape exports to md2, i don''t know if the skeletal animations stay in tact though, haven''t tried it that far.

I don''t think that Milkshape 3D is the best app to make MD2 files, because it''s more skeletal-oriented (like Half-Life models), so, making and animating an MD2 model is a mess IMHO (MD2 files are just a set of still meshes).
I have a very cool MD2 modeler (you can import 3DS files for every frame). Unfortunately, you cannot download it from the Internet (all links are broken). But, it''s a freeware app, so I think that I can send it to you without braking any copyrights laws.
