Hi all, I'm trying to educate myself about some terminology used for stock audio and see a term called a "logo version" of a song. A google search (I just looked at a few of the top links) doesn't seem to understand my query. What does the phrase "Logo version" mean to you, and how is different from a full composition, loop version, instrumental only, acapella, etc? Are there other variations and industry terminology for variations on a theme that I should be aware of? thanks in advance, appreciated

I don't know this term either. Just going to guess, to me it sounds like a seconds-long excerpt of the song played as the background for a company logo?

I would say, that it is a short melody/sound which you are able to associate with a product or company, like the intel inside melody.

I would agree with the folks above - although I've never heard that actual term used before. I've usually heard it referred to as branding instead.

In Germany, we have the terms "Soundlogo" and "Audiologo" for what MadHed and the others described; I guess those would also work in English.
However, I'm not sure that's what "logo version" would mean. After all, "version" indicates it's a variant of an existing song. Audiologos on the other hand are almost exclusively composed from scratch so that they are only associated with the brand and nothing else. It might also be pretty hard to extract a few-second-long audiologo from a minute-long piece of music and still call at a version, connected to the original.
My guess for "logo version" would be that it's the music that plays while the splashscreen of the game can be seen (not the main menu, but some games have just a screen with prettyness and a "press start"). That is, however, also just a guess of mine, nothing more.

thanks for replies. I saw it referred to as "logo version" on audiojungle. To me it sounds reasonable that a shortened version of an existing piece seems applicable as shown above. Here was the reference. I guess I could just contact them directly... but that's no fun :-)
