Anyone ever have surgery?

No it's the brain stem and some arteries wrapped around the trigeminal nerve. They lift the brain up to get to the nerves where they exit the brain towards the back of your skull.

They did a craniotomy to open up the skull, then put a bunch of teflon padding around the nerve to keep the artery and veins away because they rubbed through it's protective sheath and caused it to short out and cause extreme, constant pain across half the face.
