What im trying to say is do you like to code when ur not in any type of pressure or deadline to meet? For example when I was taking CS classe, I felt like someone was pointing gun at me while I was coding. And I wouldn't really feel like coding after class. But when I didnt have those classes I was so energetic. I would code even after coming bqck from summer session GEs and would sometime program even at midnight. Basically what im saying is when theres no deadline to meet or a grade to earn i learn waaay better and work even harder to become better. anyone else feel similar?

For some reason I tend to code much better when I'm under pressure. I find it really easy to get sidetracked when I don't have a reason to be finished ASAP. It's not necessarily detrimental sidetracking; it might be researching a solution in a little more depth than is really necessary to implement it for example (or looking at failblog).

What W2L2C said.

Pressure makes sure I finish the stuff and do all the shit work that has to be done. For the fun parts of coding: I totally forget about the pressure and everything. I just plan and code like crazy.
I don't really think it makes any difference to me, personally.

When I'm under pressure, I'm working on things I care about, so the pressure isn't so bad.

When I'm not under pressure, I'm working on different things that I care about, so I'm still motivated.

So... meh :-)

I work best when I can see the results of my work on the lives of people around me.

Things like "Hey, you just saved me five hours every day by writing this script/application. Thanks!"
or "Wow, that's a really elegant algorithm/solution!" (which almost never happens)
or "Whoa, this is a cool game! you made this?! Here, take my money!"
