They look so good D:

Series 5 specs($750ish):
Intel Atom
2 GB Ram
64 GB SSD
11.5" (1,366x768) display

Series 7 Specs ($1100ish):
Intel I5
4 GB RAM
128 GB SSD
11.5" (1,920x1,080) display

Both:
Pressure sensitive pen with 1024 levels of sensitivity (unsure of how accurate the digitizer is though)
Docking keyboard that may work as battery backup

HNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Sorry, this is pretty well near exactly what I've wanted from a portable tablet for the past 7 years, so I'm a bit excited.

edit: resolutions added.

edit: Adding Asus 810 because it is also HOTHOTHEAT [media]

Asus 810 ($???):
Next gen Intel Atom processor (??? performance???)
2GB RAM
64GB SSD
11.6" Screen ( 1,366 x 768 )
WACOM DIGITIZER

Biggest difference is that there isn't a more powerful version of the Asus. They seem fairly comparable for the lower end devices, but Asus confirmed it's basing it's pricing off the new iPad so probably around the same as above as well.
Hey is that an iPad?

j/k i'm jelly ;)

What is its HSS?*

*[size=2] Highest Starcraft2 Setting - The highest graphical setting (low, medium, high, or ultra) Starcraft 2 can be run in at 1024x768 resolution at an average of 30 frames per second
Badass. If that pen uses an active digitizer I'll probably get one.
Hey look an Apple laptop keyboard with an iPad attachment! Another lawsuit incoming :)
yea cause of the rounded corners!

Well the keyboard is from a Mac for sure...
Not even that...those Mac freaks...

Looks like standard screen and laptop keyboard parts to me, though yes, it wouldn't surprise me if a certain company has a patent for the colour silver, or something.

These do look good - though remember there's likely to be plenty of other ultra portable hybrids from other companies too (Asus recently announced the Tablet 810, and of course the MS Surface Pro). I'm tempted to pick one up next year, as a replacement for my netbook. To be honest I'd be happy even with something that doesn't transform into a tablet, as long as it's still highly portable, and has a touchscreen. Hell, I'd be happy to finally see 10" netbook devices that have more than 1GB of RAM and higher than 1024x600...

Seems a shame that so many of the x86 planned devices are 11" minimum, I like the portability of the 10" common in netbooks (so far the Surface Pro is the smallest, about 10.5" IIRC). It will also be interesting to see what the CPU and GPU performance of the next generation Atom will be.

(I wonder if non-tablet x86 netbooks will continue to exist at the low end, or whether they'll just morph into slightly higher priced hybrids, with the low end being taken up by Windows RT? Also interesting to see a return to SSDs at the low end of the market - the first netbooks were also SSDs, but then they pretty much all switched to larger sized but cheaper and slower traditional hard disks.)

Which I just googled (not having heard of it before), and which looks 100% identical to this one except for the brand name. It comes with a stylus too, as it happens, and from a quick glance it has identical technical stats as well. It even has the same color, and the keyboard looks 100% identical, too tongue.png
