I guess some people simply aren't meant to use DX8
Hi!
I will be concise and PLEAZZZZZZE, do not try to explain all the .lib stuff to me with DX8. My question is:
Does anyone have a Borland C++ v5.02 compiler with which he/she has successfully linked the DX8 SDK sample programs or Nehe Lesson23?
(hehe - looks like a mathematical definition, doesn't it?
)
Whatever i do (IMPLIB the libs from the DLLs in Windows/System directory or download some allegedly BORLAND version of DX8 libs or COFF2OMF Microsoft DX8 libs) it won't link!!!
I'd appreciate if anyone would point out a good site where to get real WORKING libs for BC5.02 or send them to me at vetevana_teab@hotmail.com . Nothing can beat the frustration I've gone through - I mean even Lesson23 won't link using BC5.02 or BC5.5 even though BC5.5 comes with its own set of DX8 libs and headers.
Thanks!

Lesson23 was assuming DX7 and I do not know if that has been fixed. If Borland is shipping their compilers with DX8 libraries is this a recent change. You can not convert all libraries with implib.
Here is a page with DX8 libraries for the latest Borland compiler:
