What do y'all think of Intel's Appup?

This has to be one of the worst things I've seen from Intel.

I guess they only really know hardware.

why exactly do you think it's so bad?

also, i'd never heard of appUp before, a quick wiki read over tells me, it's essentially the app stores for phones, but for computers instead. I don't exactly see what's wrong with that?

There were sites to download and buy software for computers, before there were for phones, so that seems an odd definition... (if by "the" app store you mean Apple's, I don't see that Intel can ever make it so that you can only download software for computers from Intel's site - I hope not, anyway!)

It's yet another download site, basically, like Download.com, Softpedia or Sourceforge; or Google Play or Nokia Store. I took a look, but it didn't seem like it would have anywhere near the popularity of existing download sites. Then again, things can be deceiving - for Android, I seem to be getting as many downloads from the Opera download site, as I do from Google Play, perhaps because the latter is so flooded with competiton. Anyone got some actual comparison figures?

I'm not sure that it's _bad_ as such, just that it doesn't seem to be anything special or new.
