Does anyone know how to make realistic weapons e.g a shotgun using 3d objects like the cyclinder using lesson 10''s 3d engine or not? My translations keep disfiguring its appearance. Or does anyone have any other ways of creating weapons, I did use a textured quad using masking techniques however the outline of the quad was present even though it should of been transparent. Thanks KMG
I personally dont have much experience in this field as I''m still trying to get a quake 2 bsp viewer working hehe but I''ve noticed people use models like in the model loading in the game tutorials use a md2 model for the alien and use another md2 model for the weapon I dont know much on modeling but I''m sure theres lots of things on it

Get a 3D modeller (Milkshape, Blender or if you have the money, 3DSMax, Maya or Softimage), design your weapon, export the 3D data, and load it into your game. There are tons of threads about the exporting-importing topic on this forum.
As far as i know you can disable the edges of any polygon by setting the edge flag to false. So if edges are your problem then search about "How to disable the edge flag". because i don't have any solid idea about edge flag.

The edge flag is only useful for very special purpose applications, such as polygonal edge antialias.
