I thought the same thing.
I just took from a template contract, doesn't have to be a complicated one drowned in legalese. I think the most important aspect of a contract is the seriousness and professionalism. If a client signs a contract 9 times out of 10 they will pay you.
Using a contract helps cut out the "time-wasters"
Can't agree more.
I'm a developer and have worked with "enthusiastic" artist who will tell me anything to make them sound driven and willing to work. Many of them just disappear without a word after wasting my time and effort. Thankfully, I didn't pay in advance.
Next time, its contract or nothing.
