Flocking behavior separated by obstacles

Grid A* for path finding, Combined flocking and path-follow behavior, Select red and blue units move to "X", How to separate units into two path?
I searched the related subject, but i can not find any solutions. here is the link about this:

Perhaps the red and blue agents should not pay attention to each other for purposes of flocking specifically because they are separated.

RTS A* pathfinding, Is applying pathfinding to each unit or a group of units?
In this video

Looks like apply pathfinding to each unit, what about the performance of applying pathfinding to handreds of units?

probably you have to make some local processing to split the units in 2 groups and then make a path for each group.
