Just going to talk about a few games I've been thinking about lately. Don't feel obligated to go into a lot of detail
Star Wars Battlefront Sequel
Even with buggy gameplay, bad AI, and laggy online, Battlefront 2 was SO much fun. It would be really awesome if they made another game in the series and fixed those problems, added better multiplayer support, and put in some sort ranking/progression for online play
Star Wars Jedi Knight III
Another great game with a lot of potential, not much else to say
Starship Troopers
Apparently there were a few games based on the starship troopers series, but I never played them. I thought it could be a really fun game with a big army of players vs a big army of bugs (maybe controlled by players)
ANY Console Space Battle Games
Going back to Battlefront, the space battles were amazing and they barely even scratched the surface. I'm actually quite surprised that no big companies have tried to come up with any type of spaceship battle game lately(that I know of). Even a game as simple as Battlefront 2's space battle mode would be a lot of fun with good multiplayer support and some kind of progression system
Unique Multiplayer Console FPS
It seems like all the major FPS developers are so scared to take risks and try new things these days. While every game has slight differences, they are all pretty much the same formula: spawn, shoot, grenades, respawn, with a few objectives thrown in here and there. Games like Halo introduced(or at least made popular) a lot of unique gameplay mechanics like dropping shields and other items, dual wielding, hijacking vehicles, and they turned out ok. I'm sure it took a lot more work and effort than slapping new skins on an old title like CoD does, but the result was really fun and unique gameplay that kept me playing for hundreds of hours longer than any other shooter. But Halo has only scratched the surface. I'd like to see console FPSs go even further and experiment with mmo mechanics like buffing allies, powerful damaging and healing skills (with long cooldowns), stuns and slows, etc
any thoughts or ideas, I'm all ears
Games you wish they'd make/remake
When you said Unique Multiplayer Console FPS I thought about this picture:

I'm not sure how this would work but it would be interesting to see. The problem is that unless big name companies really think they can squeeze easy bucks out of it, they won't really do anything about it until some indie or medium-sized game studio comes around to implementing the idea in a clever way. Then it will suddenly become the norm for console FPS. It's not so much the developers that are scared of trying new things, the developers are more or less constrained to do the same damn thing every year because somehow, the public doesn't get bored of it (= infinite cash flow).
I just want the new consoles to come out ASAP so the gaming market can be bumped back into actual innovation instead of the rather stagnant state it's currently in.
That said I would like to see some old games I used to play a while ago being remade for current hardware with perhaps some improvements. There are so many good concepts that were just left in the dust back then, it would be good to bring them back to life. I don't have any specific examples in mind but I'm sure everybody has his selection.

I'd love to see Deus Ex redone with present day graphics and better enemy AI. I distinctly remember the AI agents not patrolling properly if they were not in view - which made stealthing a bit of a bitch since you couldn't work around patrols without seeing them.
Ultimately though when these things get redone they also get almost entirely "remade" because everyone has their own ideas as to what dragged on the original and could be done better in a remake so I guess I'm happy just going back and dealing with the original's issues because I still love it.

Hrm, on the remake (as in updated for todays hardware) front: Chrono Trigger, Faxanadu, and oh Snake Rattle 'n Roll (just because i have a lot of fond memories of that game)
On the remake (as in i was dissapointed, they need to fix it):
The latest Deus Ex (forcing a run'n'gun approach to all boss battles basically caused me to shelve the game, i still have not bothered to complete it for this reason)
Alpha Protocol (there is a good game there, it just is in need of polish)
FFXIII & FFXIV (while i still believe SquareEnix is beyond saving (all their games in the past few years as an example), they reeeeeeeally dropped the ball on these one, i mean "corporate investigation WTF were you doing with our money" dropped the ball. I've never seen a better example for why the games industry could use an IV&V shop.
On the make front: I would pose it as thus:
The mix of the 3-rpg forms: North American, European, and Asian. Give me surreal Asian visuals/setting, mixed with solid meaningful eastern European story, with North American game play freedom. (like if CD Projekt, Atlus, and Bethesda/Bioware had a child).

SimTower anyone? If so, what would you want to see done differently or better. My idea is that of end-user customization to add new units/services/skins etc.

If you're looking for innovation too, you should check out the game Dust 514 coming out totally free to play on the ps3, they are doing some really amazing things
i want broderbund to remake the dark heart of uukrul in the style of 'legend of grimlock'.

I don't know about console FPSs, but on the PC Team Fortress 2 has all of these elements. The medic class has healing and uber-charging (makes the uber-charged unit invincible for a short time), the scout class has the baseball (stuns opponents), and the heavy has the Natascha minigun (slows down opponents when it hits them).

when the new consoles come out well have all the current favs redone with better gfx FIFA, COD etc

Yeah but the end of a console cycle tends to coincide with the start of another
I see your point though. But after all the existing games have been redone we'll see some change I hope.
