Hey guys,
I'm going to start cleaning up the stickies (now called pinned) topics since some of them are YEARS old. But I'm just one guy who's busy with freelancing and such as well as doing this out of love for GD.net and it's community (i.e. for free) so I could really use YOUR help!
Feel free to link articles, tutorials, keynotes and interpretive dances below. Note: these can either your own or ones that you found helpful and/or interesting on all kinds of subjects related to game audio. Also feel free to let me know what you'd like to see showcased in this forum! I'll do my best over the next few weeks or so to take all of your suggestions and links into consideration then clean out and replace many of these outdated and old pinned topics and replace them with brand new, shiny ones!
Thanks in advance for any help!
Nate

Went through my bookmarks real quick, I don't bookmark most stuff I find though so the list is rather short.
Here's what I have:

Here's what I have:

- Handy whenever you don't know what this or that symbol means when studying sheet music.
http://www.free-onli...o-keyboard.html- You select a chord, and it shows you the corresponding notes on a virtual piano keyboard and in letters. Can also show many different scales. Useful when you don't know all the chords and scales by heart.

http://forums.wesnot...hp?f=14&t=30512- Tutorial on positioning your orchestra instruments in the stereofield in three parts, regarding pan and reverb. Short and gets to the point. Can be quite an eye opener for the beginner (it was for me at least.)
http://www.gearslutz...atched-him.html- Really great info on mastering. Contains many great posts by Chris Athens (from Sterling Sound) and Bob Katz. Kind of turns into an ask-Chris-Athens thread pretty quickly. 24 pages long but well worth the read, even though it contains a lot of rubbish posts too.
http://www.gamasutra.com/- Should definitely be linked to in a sticky in my opinion.
http://madsenstudios.com/news/- Some really great articles on here! ...but you already knew that. :P
Also, a sticky directing contractors/developers looking for/offering job opportunities to the Classifieds section might be a good idea.

This is fantastic thanks Christian! (And I appreciate the little plug too! ) Anyone else?

You're welcome~

- Extensive sheet music library. Currently contains over 170,000 scores that are in public domain.
Which is where I found this gem by the way:
http://imslp.org/wik...kov,_Nikolay%29- 'Principles of Orchestration' by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov in PDF in Russian, English and German.

I've heard good things about the book "The Fat Man on Game Audio".
Some sort of basic guide to selecting appropriate hardware and software might be helpful as well, as it's a topic that comes up reasonably often.

I stumbled upon this today. It looks promising, but will probably take weeks or months even to read through all of it.

- Not a game audio article per se, but some good tips on what you should really pay attention to when freelancing. (at least I think they're good tips, don't have any experience in that myself really)
So, how's cleaning up the stickies going Nate? I haven't really noticed much of a change yet. Is there anything else we can help with?
Yeah, sorry about that. I've been slammed for a good while ... which is a good problem for a freelancer to have but doesn't help with other parts of my life! ;)
