I am looking for a review or something that shows the diferences in visual studio versions and which one to use, etc the free visual studio express dosent have the option to add resources but the paid 2010 one does etc, stuff like that , i want it for all the visual studio versions like

visual studio 6.0
visual studio 2003
visual studio 2005
visual studio 2009
visual studio 2010

does anyone know any place apart from the docs or do i have to make my own?

What are you comparing for? (a paper, something formal, or really just to know?)
If you don't have to provide anything formal, the answer is simple, 2010, there is nothing to gain by going with older versions except if you to .net and need to support very old .net code in which case you may need one of the vs that still supports .net 1

For anything else go with 2010 as far as release version goes.

Now for the edition comparison that's a much less obvious choice, but there is a nice page detailing the feature set of each. Tell us what you need and it'll be easy to pick the right version, but in most case if you're working alone you want the express edition, else you need to specially pick for your company needs between pro premium or ultimate but microsoft has a nice product feature comparison for that:

As stated: go with 2010, or possibly 2008 in a pinch.

Definitely stay the hell away from 6.0, and 2003/2005 aren't all that hot either compared to later editions.

I already moved to 11 :) There's no reason to use something old, except if there is a compatibility requirement.
If that's not the help you're after then you're going to have to explain the problem better than what you have. - joanusdmentia

Why is version 6 put in that list? That version is very... notorious.
