That would be really nice. But it need a cd about 15-20 seconds and the next ability is thrown back to the enemy
Ice bridges are always cool. Buildings, giant trees, and anything else is all game :P.

How about a spell that interferes with an opponents control - swapping keys, making enemies look like friendlies and vice versa. I think having a "twitch" based game is of this type is different and you should use this to your advantage!

Swapping the weapon your enemy is holding (this could be randomly chosen, so could be advantageous to the target).

A spell that strips your target of their armour and animates this into a creature that fights for you.

A spell that makes your target constantly jump.

A spell that turns you target into a variety of materials - but be imaginative: Chalk, Beer, chocolate, paper..!

But I also need abilities that can be used by knights or archers.[/quote]
For me, no matter how hard I try to think of special non-magic related abilities knights and archers can perform, I can't find a single one. This is because mages have a talent which they can use to screw with the laws of nature, while warriors do not. So the only thing warriors can do is rely on their skill in using their weapon, to cut, slash and pierce their enemies. There's no breaking the laws of nature for them, thus nothing fancy they can do. Unless you remove the artificial separation between mages and warriors, that is. Then players will be able to choose the skills they are comfortable with. Or, alternatively, you can make mages defenceless, so that warriors simply need to get close to them and the mages are as good as dead.
@eugene2k There is no seperation between Mages and Knights!
You can choose a weapon and a few spells and than fight with it. Sure you can only assasinate with a dagger. But you can make a hero with daggers, assasinate, stealth and heal spells. A warri with hammer and necromancer-spells is also possible!
I've never really seen it in many games, but I like the idea of creating a wall, as in you click and drag to form it. It could just be a stone wall, a wall of fire, etc.

If you're a wizard and you can't rewind time, you're a wuss.

Seriously though, that would probably be one of the coolest spells to have -- instant replay last 10 seconds, except you can play differently and know what will happen.

generally time travel doesnt work well in a multiplayer game. plus the laws of physics deny it (read stephen hawking)
in single player games time works well butttt.....
i dont know how you can impleent this is a multiplayer. all of the players could change their actions therefore defeating the whole point.

I will implement this like an aoe. You aim on the ground and there a circle out of fire appears. This game is to fast for dragging and forming something...

A few seconds of instant replay are well within the possibilities of a modern computer. The server only needs to roll back in its log and replay everything, ignoring input from other players within the area of effect. This will effectively cause those affected to be watching 10 seconds of a "movie sequence" while allowing the caster (and anyone outside the area of effect!) to do re-play this time within the area of effect, anticipating what will happen (because he already knows, of course). Or maybe make that 5 seconds, so it's less extreme.

One would just have to be very careful to balance it right. If for example, I could rewind time by 2-3 minutes at will, what would prevent me from jumping back to before a fight even started, casually walking behind you, and cutting your throat while you are entirely unaware -- you don't even have a reason to expect me doing so. You'd lose before it even starts.

plus the laws of physics deny it (read stephen hawking)
The laws of phsyics also deny smiting my enemies with lightning coming out of my eyes and with fireballs from my butt. That's what magic is about. Magic is about breaking the laws of physics.

Besides, the mere fact that Hawking says so does not mean it has to be true. No matter how intelligent this man may or may not be, like everybody he can only see as far as his horizon goes. Maybe his horizon goes a lot farther than mine or yours, but either way it is limited. Everything beyond that is speculation (or you could call it "belief").

The most intelligent people of the middle ages were certain that Earth was a disk. One of the indisputably most intelligent people of the late Renaissance was firmly convinced that animals don't have feelings and cannot suffer pain.
The Sumerians were one of the most developed ancient people. Their mathematical and architectural achievements surpassed anything we had in Europe for another 3500 years. They also said that the blood is produced in the liver and the heart is where your conscience comes from. Even Galen of Pergamon, one of the most advanced physicians of his time (and centuries after him) fell for this over 2000 years after the Sumerians. He believed that the liver was the organ pumping the blood through the organism.

Oh, ok. So then you need support spells for the characters. Here's a few ideas:
Hallucination - make an opponent see whatever you want them to see. Chain down - the opponent's movement is temporarily restricted by the chains that suddenly grow from beneath the opponent's feet only to tie themselves around the opponent. Chameleon - like a chameleon the character can become part of the surroundings if he stands close to them or hiding in the shadows the character could become completely invisible. Speed rush - allows the character to quickly cover a rather large distance in seconds. Play dead - the character appears to have been killed when attacked, in reality that's not necessarily true.
