Anyone here listen to rap/hip hop? If so, who would your favorite artist be and why? I personally like Eminem, mainly cause he's got some great lyrics.

I'm fairly "not with it" regarding rap/hip-hop, though I do enjoy Will Smith's work - if that counts for anything?

I don't blame people for disliking the form, especially these days, but some of it is great. You just have to dig around a little bit.

I'm not really into mainstream hip-hop to be honest but I like rjd2, I find it more melodic than a lot of hip-hop out there:

Old school hip hop is lovely, reminds me of skiing all day (Which I simply live for). Fugees' Fuu-gee-la is a great reminder and so is "I am Music" by Common. I have never succeeded in embedding videos, so I cannot link them, though.

I wanna jump into the powder now...
Old school hip hop does have a certain quality to it that makes it really great.

As far as artists (talent, not personality) goes: Fugees, Common, Kanye West. I wouldn't they are my favorite but I enjoy their music.

I listen to some rap, like Immortal Technique, Classified,

Kanye West, alittle too mainstream?
