Installing Mac on an AMD Phenom II x6 build
Is it possible to install Mac OSX Snow Leopard (and then upgrade to lion). On a computer that I built? It has an AMD Phenom II x6 processor, an ATI Radeon HD graphics card, and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. I want to dual boot Mac alongside Windows so that I can write iOS games without buying a Mac (even the Mac mini is kind of expensive for me right now).
It's unlikely it would work: Mac OS relies on EFI as a bootloader and yer typical PC only has the primitive BIOS.

Can you develop and deploy iPhone apps using a copy of Mac running in a virtualization system like VmWare?

Apple doesn't sell standalone OS X licenses(only upgrades), the only way to get a license is to buy a Mac and that license is not transferable to a different machine, Thus it is fairly irrelevant if it is possible or not. (When it comes to computers almost anything is possible)

On certain hardware VirtualBox can run Max OS X. I'd link to a tutorial, but most use pirated copies instead of legit copies. If you google for "virtualbox running mac OSX" you'll get a lot of result. Fairly easy to get up and running.
You'll also find information on running MacOS on non-Mac hardware under a search for "hackintosh". This is obviously not condoned by Apple though.

I'm sure there is a workaround, but... Apple is pretty strict with their AppStore. If they somehow find out you've been developing apps on a hackintosh you'll most probably have your apps deleted and your account banned, if not worse.
Cheapest way IMHO is for you to buy a second-hand MacMini.

Why would he settle for a second hand mac mini instead of his fantastic build. Also "IF" they find out you would probably get banned but the have literally no way of knowing, also you can develop iPhone apps on hackintosh but it only works on Intel processors I think you need a patch for AMD. If one wanted to develop iPhone apps on PC I suggest they look into Airplay SDK or Dragonfire SDK
A friend of mine built a mac clone using basically the same components (he said, I hardly believe it). Same vid card, same processor, he also flashed mainboard's BIOS. It didn't work out.
I'd be extremely amused if you manage to run it on AMD. The processor isn't my main concern, the chipset and BIOS are.
On a X6... I'd expect some phun.
