The "Help I need christmas gift ideas," Thread

Christmas spending has gone slightly crazy this year. Taking a look at ads on TV, all the items advertised are hugely expensive - TVs, games consoles, jewellery, etc costing upwards of £150. If this trend continues next year the ads will be telling us to buy cars and houses! I'm not going to get into the whole "spirit of christmas" argument (because it's bullshit) but just get something smaller and more thoughtful. I'm sure the indie devs on this site could give you a lot of examples of cheap, awesome games to gift to people!

I'm inclined to a whiteboard this year.
Books appear to be always welcome, choosing them however is a bit of a problem.

It's called recession. Wages today are effectively in 1980s while prices are in 2011.
