the only way i know how to make anything translucent is through alpha blending in opengl ... the problem is, i can''t alpha blend to make a window transparent (like the function available in win2k, but usable in other windows versions.) any thoughts, suggestions, etc? i''d really like some help. thanks a lot! -flip.x-

The only way I know to do translucency is with alpha blending. i know that for just plain transparency, you could use a different shape of window (forget what it''s called, but you can make a window any shape you want).

What exactly are you wanting to do? Are you wanting to do a fade in effect like 3dmark2001 has? Or you wanting something to always be translucent?
