I was wondering if anyone had an idea for the price range to have a 3D Modeler as a contractor create an environment like a house with an exterior and interior? If there are any resources or so I'd be interested in knowing. Thank you.

There is no standard rate. It is what you negotiate.

On a more general note, consider some basic ranges. A college student can work for around $10/hr or less, but don't expect much. A professional organization can charge $100/hr or more, and you can expect considerably more from them.

For individual pieces you would not go on an hourly basis, instead going for a the cost per piece. That is going to be entirely up to your negotiating skills.

It will also vary based on what you give them. A simple description of a single model isn't much to go on, but a collection of concept art will give so much more direction.

Depending on what you want and if you are willing to share with others, you might be able to get an even less expensive deal. There are many royalty-free sources that will give a non-exclusive license to their models for a very low cost. Often you can browse through their online catalogs to see if they already have something that meets your needs.

(Whatever you work out, be sure you get your rights assignments worked out and signed that specifies if it is a work for hire, or licensed under some other exclusive or non-exclusive terms. )
