The problem i am facing is that Currently right now i have a 2D Texture which i can map to some 3D objects. Now let's take a sphere for example when you looking at the texture on it it will look like it is wrapping. Now what i want to do is be able to take the texture off the sphere an Unwrap it back to a 2d texture while preserving the angles. That way the texture in 2D will look like something that was wrap around a sphere. If anyone has any idea how to approach that problem i would greatly appreciate it.
What programs are you using?

Maya and 3DS max have great interfaces for unwrapping a UV, exporting it, then importing it. Try Blender, though. Its free and probablu has some interface for UV maps.
