hiyaz peepz.. sorta COMPLETLY off topic, but waht the hell! I used to be a err, bum .... had every hour of each day free to code (which was nice) But now, I have a job working 12 hour shifts and have NO time to do anything!!! I was just wondering how you people (with jobs) find time to code? I''m missing coding like hell! And I cannot go on like this! :*(
Well, I have a problem that is even worse!

I have school from 6 AM to 2 PM, and then I work from 5 to 7, 8, 9, or 10 depending on the day.

To top that off, I am still trying to LEARN how to code, at least if I knew how to I would be able to work on it about 1 or 2 hours a day

Damn school. If I didnt have school, I would have time to learn how to do OpenGL ( I already have C++ down pretty well ) and then I would know C++ and OpenGL. I could get a job as a programmer.

Damn school.

With University + work, I don''t have much time to code my own stuff. Right now, I''m working on a Java app for my CSC 225 class. Not very interesting.

I''d much rather be working on my telnet client, or my 3d engine, or anything else. But there''s no time for any of that ...

Drizzt DoUrden: I see you post messages quite frequently, so I''m guessing you have some free time to read a book, or learn a new topic. I used to spend alot of time on the gamedev forums and the gamedev chat IRC network, but I have found spending more than 10 minutes a day on them, to be wasting my time. I would much rather read a book or something of the sort... or program. I too go to school, but from 7:30 until 4:00, then I have lots of homework, but I try to complete most of it at school, and only study when at home. Yet, I am sleep deprived from the amount of time I take reading and programming, and doing school work, but none the less, I am doing well in school, because of my ''lil'' techniques, and reading alot each day with time to program.

I post from school, and I work at CompUSA ( a computer store ) so I have all the time in the world to post on Game Dev.. I could read the book at work but I can''t actually do the coding.

I had/have the same problem more or less, so I invested in a laptop, so now whether I''m at school with free time or at work I can fire up something to do. Might not be the fastest machine out there, but for actual development it''s great, I leave most of the testing that requires 3D for home though

Well, I had to give up my lunch to be in the library with the computers 5th period, and I have second period Study, so I had to give up an elective, but I like being able to do my homework in school and work afterwords.

CompUSA is not the greatest place to work in the world. I am surrounded by members of the computer illiterate club. Noone in that store even knows what a compiler is....

As you can see then - most of us DON''T have time to code... I just spend time at school thinking about what I''m going to code. By the time I get my preciouse coding time, I can just slam it out. Or at least that''s how it''s SUPPOSED to work (-;
