So I'm looking for some touristy stuff to get up to in the Vancouver, BC area, sometime late next week.
I'm keeping an open mind so far as I can, so if there's something you know of in the area that'd be worth doing (suitable for a day trip from across the border), poast ur shtuff!
Also, Bushmills Black Label is tasty.
CANADA!

I visited Vancouver several years ago with my family. We went to the Butchart Gardens (http://www.butchartgardens.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1). It's a bit expensive, but if you like gardens and that kind of stuff, it's something that you can do.
We also rode a ferry around just for fun. We didn't stay for very long, so those were all what we did tourism-wise.

Do visit the downtown east side. The street entertainment is adorable.

One word. Gastown"]GasTown
Or, would that be two words and a missing space? Anyways, go to GasTown. Really thats about it. Screw the rest of the town, its all rainy and full of hippies. Just sit at GasTown every day and night.
I am kidding about the rest of Vancouver, but serious, GasTown. Go. There. Many of the pubs have their own microbrew and as I recall, a great many of them were exceptionally good. You have to visit the Chinese section of town for at least one meal too, hands down the best Chinese food I ever had was in Vancouver. One of the funny things about Vancouver is all of the vice is shoved into a small section of town, which you must visit at least once.
Oh, and if you happen to smoke, stock up before you get there. Wayyy crazy stupid expensive prices, at least they were when I last went there ( granted, about 7 years ago ).

Mmm, vice. I like the sound of that.
