I just bought it as they're selling it at quarter price. However, when I run the game, Steam keeps flashing the "Perparing to launch Mirror's Edge" prompt over and over again for like a minute or so and then nothing happens. Googling hasn't turned up anything useful either other than the fact that there seems to be a UE3 problem with newer drivers, in particular PhysX. I have a 460GT and my drivers are reasonably up do date. Can anyone verify if this indeed is an issue with Nvidia or is anyone aware of a fix? It'd be silly to go demanding back my €2.5; it's also equally silly to have bought and installed the game and not be able to run it.

I'd imagine this is better placed on the Steam forums. All I can say is, go there and search for your problem on their forums. You didn't buy it at GameDev.net now did you ;)

I also had a problem with Mirror's Edge on Steam. IIRC, it's because I had a widescreen monitor (1440 x 900), and for some reason the game can't launch for the first time using a widescreen monitor (possibly there was also something about using a HDMI to VGA adapter for the monitor - I can't really remember). In the end I had to borrow a 1280 x 1024 monitor, and use that to run the game for the first time. After that I was able to plug the old monitor back in and it worked fine.

I don't know if that's the same issue you've got (I've got an ATI HD5770), but it might be worth a try.
