Whats with the Bright Clear Colours ?

Hi All.

Anybody ever noticed that Valve use some bright bright colours to clear the screen ?
ive noticed two:

Green

and Pink

any body know why ?

Probably because it's easier to spot problems with bright colours which are unlikely to be used in a scene then say clearing to black.

In most of my test apps I use a blue colour to clear the screen to so I can spot problems.

Actually those two colors look suspiciously like the Direct3d debug runtime clear colors.

Direct3d uses them for the reasons phantom mentioned.

We used to use 0xdeadbeef as the clear color. It's nasty.
